On how Prof Owusu-Agyei was able to overcome the challenges researchers in Ghana face, he said he was able to attract funding to overcome the scarcity of funding in the country. He wrote proposals that could attract international funding.
It is on this that research fellows are advised to write proposals in getting funding for the work they want to do. I am very proud of him that from a humble beginning, he has been able to work so hard. He has proven that if you set your mind to do something and follow that with hardworking, you can achieve it.
His contribution in getting the malaria vaccine and answers he has obtained to the challenges the malaria control programme face is notable.
It is my expectations that the young scientists will emulate these examples in their career.
