Legal Systems and evidence: Is human that callous to charge falsely?

The guy was virtually the caretaker of the house that they were renting. He had spare keys to all rooms and even if someone accidentally left a door ajar, he securely locked it up for the person.

This guy was befriending a lady that his co-tenant who was a policeman was also interested to have as a girlfriend.

The policeman left his door ajar on one occasion and as usual, the guy saw it and decided to lock it up for him. While locking up with the spare key, the policeman came in and arrested him in his boxer shorts and a singlet.

He was taken to the police station and statements were written. Within two hours, he had been processed, sent to court by the prosecutor, and further sentenced to two and a half years to prison for stealing from the policeman.

The matter in detail is interesting. The judgment was such that he needed to serve the two years jail term and the six months could be paid as a fine. The prosecutor who took the case to court was the father of the lady that the guy and in this case the policeman who played the victim was befriending. On that day at that same court, seven people were convicted and sent to the same prison.

The prosecutor after reading the charge of the guy added some statements verbally to the judge. One of these convicts was an Ewe, and on their way to the prison, he told the guy who was falsely charged by the policeman that the prosecutor told the Judge that “the guy was befriending his young daughter and if he leaves him off the hook, he will destroy her life”.

No wonder the judge happened to be one of the judges caught in the exposure of Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The guy has finished with his terms, and thank God for the opportunity to learn what he learned in prison and his drive to make a difference in the life of prisoners. He had had the opportunity to meet the policeman and the prosecutor who have all had the opportunity to apologize for what happened. The guy now a Pastor happened to offer the Opening Prayer for the marriage ceremony of the girlfriend for which I will say he was made to pay in that manner. The law and truth converge but like a mirage.
