There are several short videos from the 31st December 2021 watch night services circulating on social media with mockery comments about men of God fearing to incur the wrath of the Ghana Police Service. It tends to suggest that many have controlled the prophecies that had it not been for the directives by the Ghana Police, they would have given.
In 1 Corinthians 14:31-33 (…31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace—as in all the churches of the saints.…), every prophet can control what he puts out when received from God. For that matter, since the God we serve is not one that causes chaos, the men of God were applying wisdom rather than daring the Ghana Police who have the law on their side. This is the same wisdom I wish prophets had applied previously in speaking to the nation, people, and those who needed redemption by which God revealed to them.
In most instances, the spread of the issues to make prophets look bad had been by the media including bloggers and of course those who seek to make a mockery of the things of God. To curb this, the Ghana Police is said to have given a directive to crack down on those who will give prophecies without evidence.
The worry with this directive is the Ghana Police trying to regulate prophecies if it is true they issued the statement attributed to the service. It is a call for Christians to speak against such attempts to regulate the practice of the Christian faith. Since when did it become necessary for others to get evidence before indulging certain matters of the spirit (which is partly of the spirit and partly of the flesh)? Is the service saying that they need to also hear from God before they could accept prophecies or else deal with the vessels that communicate such messages?
This is not to say that men of God whether fake or real should speak as they desire without recourse to God but rather it is an attempt to control the Christian believe. If Christians do not speak up, the next attempt will be to stop the speaking in tongues because even the one who speaks it does not understand what he/she says but speaks mysteries in the realms of the spirit.
When they went for their children, they thought it was not them. What they did not know was that, their future was what was being controlled to keep them mute after their death.
We may mock them now but trust that it is subtly going to backlash the Christian faith and its practices. Christians must speak up and remain resolute againts any decision to control the faith.
