I am tempted to think that living and existence of humanity is simply robbing oneself of livelihood in exchange of myopic pleasure.<\/p>\n
No wonder man or woman finds it difficult to protect himself or herself from the risk of infection that stays till death at the glaring face of pleasure that could barely last more than 10 minutes unless with enhancing substances.<\/p>\n
Women find it difficult to keep the eye lashes despite their protective functions.<\/p>\n
Human beings are ready to litter their surroundings to bring diseases instead of maintaining the needed hygiene.<\/p>\n
At the moment as I write, one of the hottest discussions in Ghana is the exploitation of the Atewa forest for bauxite in a bater trade for some few dollars in a short time.<\/p>\n
The forest where the bauxite will be mined, I am told has the source of some important rivers in Ghana. Water from the forest serve about 5 million Ghanaians. In the whole world and in conservation, some species of frogs, butterflies, plants can only be found in the Atewa forest. This clearly tells that we must do well not to destroy the ecosystem we are blessed with.<\/p>\n
I am told, over a long period and with commitments, we can keep the forest and benefit from it while we raise the amount we are exchanging it for right now. What is the difficulty in doing that? Because we cannot wait but want the pleasure now?<\/p>\n
The way we are burnt on ridding ourselves of oxygen, I bet you that if Christ even tarries, we will be extinct because there will be no life.<\/p>\n
I will prefer to travel over the roads we have for some time and keep Atewa forest to sustain the ecosystem we have been endowed with.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the documents have been signed and I will say, let’s be ready for the many unknowns, the destruction of the forest will bring including new diseases we have not seen before.<\/p>\n
