I had the opportunity to discuss the worry of old students of the school over the undesirable performance in the National Science and Maths Quiz. On our old students&#8217; platform, we have discussed severally the disconnect with the WASSCE performance comapred to the NSMQ appearances.<\/p>\n<p>He held the view that, his ultimate goal is to make sure the students perform to progress in their carrier than to concentrate on a few just for the purpose of winning a contest.<\/p>\n<p>The schools of thought vary though but to some extent, as much as I wish in the quiz season my school shows a great representation, I am always glad students of the school get good choices of programmes to pursue at the higher education levels.<\/p>\n<p>Which of the two should be prioritized when resources cannot accommodate the two simultaneously? This debate will never end.<\/p>\n<p>In my view, the needed resources to prepare students for the NSMQ should be absorbed by the old students while the school looks at the bigger picture.<\/p>\n<p>Once we desire to see the cup for the contest in our school, let&#8217;s commit to that while the management of the school concentrates on what will make more good old students to society.<\/p>\n<p>I found the write up below in the link interesting. For a decade, St James Seminary and Secondary, formerly, has maintained the top spot for the WASSCE ranking.
