{"id":1735,"date":"2020-03-06T01:05:53","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T01:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adugyasidennis.wordpress.com\/?p=1735"},"modified":"2020-03-06T01:05:53","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T01:05:53","slug":"gamls-congratulates-the-wapcmls-ghana-chapter-the-regional-body-of-wapcmls-and-88-consultants-as-foundation-fellows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adugyasidennis.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/06\/gamls-congratulates-the-wapcmls-ghana-chapter-the-regional-body-of-wapcmls-and-88-consultants-as-foundation-fellows\/","title":{"rendered":"GAMLS CONGRATULATES THE WAPCMLS \u2013 GHANA CHAPTER, THE REGIONAL BODY OF WAPCMLS AND 88 CONSULTANTS AS FOUNDATION FELLOWS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gamls.org\">Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS)<\/a> congratulates the Regional Body of the <a href=\"http:\/\/wapcmls.org\/\">West Africa Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS)<\/a>, the Ghana Chapter of WAPCMLS and the 88 of the 216 Consultants from seven West African Countries who were inducted as Foundation Fellows of WAPCMLS on the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> of February 2020 at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The Foundation Fellows spread across the different specialties and subdisciplines of the medical laboratory science profession are grouped into <a href=\"http:\/\/wapcmls.org\/wapcmls-faculties.html\">Faculties<\/a>. Each Faculty will articulate the curriculum for training, examining and certifying the required critical mass of specialists in their subdiscipline within the West African region and Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The function was graced by the Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Alexander Abban, Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea who is the Director of Institutional Care Unit of the Ghana Health Service and Mr. Lawrence Lawson, who represented Director of Human Resource, MoH.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">At this function, Professor Nafiu Amidu, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana, was elected as the <a href=\"http:\/\/wapcmls.org\/wapcmls-news-events.html\">First President of the WAPCMLS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The professional body extended their gratitude to the Government, Ministry of Health and its Agencies, and the dedicated members who always make the professional body proud in the development of the Medical Laboratory Profession in Ghana.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1737\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1737\" style=\"width: 1125px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1737\" src=\"https:\/\/adugyasidennis.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/for-gamls-congrats.png\" alt=\"for gamls congrats\" width=\"1125\" height=\"844\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1737\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">From left to right: Hon Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu DCE of Akatsi North, Prof. George Asare Awuku former HoD of MLS UG and behind him is Prof. Patrick Ferdinand Ayeh-Kumi, the Provost of College of Health Sciences University of Ghana, Prof. Nafiu Amidu the Dean of Sch. of Allied Health Sciences UDS who was the Chairman of Ghana Chapter and now the President of WAPCMLS, Mr. Felix Sorvor, Medical Laboratory Focal Person, National TB Control Programme, GHS, Hon Alexander Abban Dep.
