<\/p>\nEngland are set to face punishment for three incidents which took place during their Euro 2020 semi-final against Denmark on Wedneday night.<\/p>\n
The Three Lions came from behind to beat their opponents 2-1 and set up a final against Italy on Sunday as they look to win their first major tournament since the 1966 World Cup.<\/p>\n
However, there were a number of controversial incidents on the night, with Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel having a laser pen shone in his eyes before Harry Kane took his extra-time penalty.<\/p>\n

And the Danish national anthem was also booed ahead of kick-off by a number of fans, while others set off flares.<\/p>\n
A statement released by UEFA on Thursday announced that England would be charged for the three incidents as a result.<\/p>\n
It read: “Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA EURO 2020 semi-final match between England and Denmark (2-1), played on 7 July at Wembley Stadium, London.<\/p>\n
And it Is as follow:<\/p>\n
1. Use of laser pointer by its supporters – Article 16(2)(d) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations has never and will never permit this.<\/p>\n
2. Disturbance caused by its supporters during the national anthem – Article 16(2)(g) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations does not support this.<\/p>\n
3. Lighting of fireworks by its supporters – Article 16(2)(c) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, again does not support this.<\/p>\n
The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) in due course.”<\/p>\n
It is not clear exactly what the punishment will be, but it is likely the English FA will receive a big fine.<\/p>\n
The country rejoiced in celebration after the game, and England boss Gareth Southgate could not hide his pride at what his side had achieved.<\/p>\n
Speaking at full-time he said: “We were so smooth through the quarter-final and relatively unscathed through the second round.<\/p>\n
“We knew that at some point we were going to concede and we would have to respond.<\/p>\n
“Denmark have had an incredible tournament. I have got to give them huge credit.<\/p>\n
“But I think on the balance of play when you look at the number of saves we forced the goalkeeper to make and long periods of the game where I felt we were the biggest threat, I think we deserved it.”<\/p>\n
