J&amp;J is preparing to have the Leiden plant restart Covid vaccine production in March, the Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>J&amp;J spokesman Jake Sargent didn\u2019t directly comment on the Times\u2019 article. He told CNBC in a statement the company is \u201cfocused on ensuring our vaccine is available where people are in need,\u201d and that it is fulfilling its obligations to the international groups trying to boost access to the Covid vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>J&amp;J is continuing to deliver batches of the vaccine materials to sites that bottle and package doses, and \u201cwe currently have millions of doses of our Covid-19 vaccine in inventory,\u201d Sargent said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud of the work of our many industry partners and the collaborations we have developed to produce our Covid-19 vaccine,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"MidResponsive-midResponsiveContainer\">\n<div id=\"MidResponsive-1\" class=\"\" data-module=\"mps-slot\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/health\/2021\/04\/26\/poll--nearly-three-quarters-of-unvaccinated-americans-unwilling-to-get-the-johnson---johnson-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Polls show<\/a>\u00a0that many Americans have taken a skeptical eye toward the J&amp;J Covid vaccine, which is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/emergency-preparedness-and-response\/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19\/covid-19-vaccines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the only one approved<\/a>\u00a0by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that requires just a single shot as a primary dose, versus the two-dose regimen of vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA last year\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/04\/13\/us-regulators-reportedly-call-for-pause-in-use-of-johnson-johnson-vaccine-due-to-clotting-issues.html\">recommended pausing the use of the J&amp;J vaccine<\/a>\u00a0following a small number of reports of recipients developing rare blood clots.
