Yesterday, in a chat with some friends at the mechanic shop, I heard of interesting things that made me laugh dearly.
It got to a time that Kintampo got to be known as one of the towns with lots of fetish priests who claimed to help people overcome their financial troubles.
It was clear from the stories I heard that, those guys were nothing less than confident tricksters.
This was clear from the way they were operating. For one of them, he always cautioned his clients not to visit the toilet before they get home with whatever ritual he performed for them. It might sound funny but he knew what he was doing. Anyone who went to consult him was given some concoction to take. This was later found out to be a laxative which no matter what will induce you to pass stool and go against the instructions of the rituals for which you visited.
For another, he was known to double money sent to him. After his incantations, you always needed some special oil to spray over the money to be able to use it. That oil was sold by only one person at a distant location. When you receive the oil, you have to shake it vigorously and hold for about 5minutes over the money. The ritual was deemed successful if the container with the oil didn’t burst. But that was not possible because unknown to people who visited the shrine, the oil had some explosives that got activated upon shaking. People lost the money they had gone to double because all the processes never completed.
We just have to be careful of the trick people are using now. It may even use people close to you.
