His post follows a seven page documents released by the National Cathedral Secretariat and subsequent interviews giving accounts of monies spent so far on the construction of the building.

Recent agitations by Ghanaians on why the Finance Minister will give $25 million to the Secretariat, toward the construction, which President Nana during the launch of the project noted will not cost the nation a dime to construct.
This forced the Secretariat to give a detailed account of their spendings so far.
An amount of $ 50,000 is said to have been paid to Gospel Musician Sonny Badu and his team when they performed at the fundraising event held in the USA.

But this payment have been denied by management, “on the said date of the event, Dr. Sonnie Badu performed with his team but we regret to mention that the organizers of the event disappeared and did not pay any amounts as is been alleged”.
The statement says the team was made to believe the event was a charitable one and hence, ” the organizers will send something to give to his team”.
“…. the team wishes to disassociate themselves and International Act, Dr. Sonnie Badu from any National Cathedral reimbursement allegations”, portion of the statement aslo reads.

The National Cathedral project is a personal promise made to God by President Nana Addo. The edifice when completed, will have a museum, place of worship, event center, among others. It is estimated to cost $350 million to construct.
