In 2004, I held one of the first built-in camera phones by Nokia (7250i). It was classic and with great features. The welcoming message with Nokia’s iconic handshake during booting was enough to cause those in the technology industry to bow. Despite the sophistication of the device at that time, one needed an expert to be able to set up the internet for browsing.
In 2007, I had my first international travel using aircraft. I understood the meaning of “travel and see” when I got the opportunity to visit a hospital in 2009 in Chicago with a fully automated system from sample reception through processing, and analysis to archiving.
Little did I know that a time will come when one can be surfing the internet in the aircraft without limitations. Such a prophesy would have been vehemently denied about 10 to 15 years ago.
One can now surf without hindrance and at one of the fastest speeds while in the air depending on the person’s ability to pay for the service. Some airlines provide at least some duration to passengers for free and encourage them to pay for any extra needs.
It is good to take some time to visit some of the aircraft to observe ta changes that have been advanced in that technological area. Some vessels have swimming pools that some first-class passengers could benefit from if they are interested.
I encourage everyone to use online videos to be abreast with the aircraft and how it operates when traveling on long journeys. This will open one up to be informed on some dos and don’t when you are a passenger.
