Was in an air-conditioning bus and was not happy with some things that happened. We need to be conscious of certain manners to help control the spread of infections.
- Sneeze into a tissue, handkerchief or in a worse scenario into your palms. It is better to keep the droplets from the sneeze into a localized area than to allow it to spread widely in the atmosphere with many people. It is worse when space is even enclosed and no proper ventilation.
- You should also cough in a similar manner like when you sneeze.
- When avoidable, DO NOT release bad air when you are in an air-conditioned vehicle. As much as you suffocate others who might avoid inhaling the bad smell, it is choking.
- If you find some rashes (chicken-pox, measles, etc) on your skin, please try to stay away from the crowd or where many people are gathered. In plain terms, such people should not be allowed at that time to travel in public vehicles especially in enclosed buses with limited air circulation. I got chicken pox from someone who joined a Ford bus I took from Accra to Kumasi in one of my travels.
- Avoid unnecessary handshake at all times. If needful, use sanitizer after the handshake. This actually applies at all times. Ebola on my mind!
