In 1979, Nsawkaw in the Tain District in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana was faced with a situation where a Paramount Chief was installed without the involvement of a Queen-mother. The matter was resolved and the leadership of Nsawkaw area made a resolution for such incidence NEVER to happen again.
Among the signatories to the resolution (picture attached) on 14th October 1979 was the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Nsawkaw Youth Association, Mr. P. K. JIMPETEY-DJAN, now Gyaasehene of Nsawkaw.
As we speak, the Gyaasehene with two other Sub-Chiefs has installed a self-styled Chief without the involvement of a Queen-Mother just as had happened in 1979.
What was he thinking in 1979 when he appended his signature to such an important resolution? I would wish these sub-Chiefs do the honourable thing to restore peace in Nsawkaw Traditional Area.
