Charging your mobile phones: Be cautious!

I heard the man sharing his ordeal about what happened to him two days-ago and could not help but share to caution all.

Ololo, as I will call my narrator, was standing by the washing sink in the ward telling the others in the ward what he went through exactly 24 hours when he was narrating. He was charging his phone when he had a call. He took the phone from charging to answer the call. When he finished, he went to plug it back to charge.

With the phone (picture shown in this message) in his palms and attaching the power cable which was already in the wall socket, he realized he could not release the phone. He started feeling numb from all his extremities and was still stuck to the phone.

He struggled several times before he could pull the phone with the cable which tore from the wall. It was obvious that he was electrocuted and could have died from that.

He did not have wet hands. What I did not ask was whether he was barefooted. We all suspect the silvery back of the phone could have played a role in the power that run through him. I advised him to get some insulating cover for the phone when he is going to replace the charger.

It is important we all take note of the cautions needed when using electricity to charge our phones. We might not be lucky like Ololo next time.
