Dear Manasseh,
I have taken the trouble to read your pretentious congratulatory letter to President Akufo-Addo which doesn’t depart from the epistolary ones you have been writing about him since you fell out of love with him for reasons I struggle to assimilate.
In this new letter to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, you allow, once again, your venomous hatred for the man to jaundice your judgement.
Let’s take a stroll and look at some of the issues you have captured in your piece and deal with them.
You talk about your uncertainty about his second term, that’s entirely your opinion though I disagree with same. You may be uncertain about it but the over 6.6 million Ghanaians who have voted for him to continue with his good works are quite certain about his next four years.
Manasseh, your piece is filled with conjectures and strange hypothesis which cannot be used to judge what the next four years holds in stock for us. Your looting theory is not based on any scientific evidence since we have the John Agyekum Kufuor era as a yardstick. There were close to nothing of appointees looting our resources in anticipation of the then President leaving office. What we had was a mass of falsified documents and palpable lies churned by the then opposition NDC for purposes of the 2008 elections. It turned out, later, that it was all a pack of lies invented by the NDC just to whip up public but negative sentiments against the then JAK administration.
It is important to disabuse your mind of this belief that appointees under Akufo-Addo would expect to exit office with him when a new NPP administration comes. In fact, they will rather work harder to justify their inclusions in the next NPP administration. This drowns that point you made.
You talk about the President taking decisions which are in the national interest. How do you define that? Isn’t that a very subjective way of looking at things? What is of national interest to me may not be viewed in the same manner by another person.
You seem to have developed this eerie idea of the President having authority over our constitution or laws so much so that he can just order for the arrest, beatings and incarcerations of people alleged to have committed crimes. You are, in essence, saying that the President is above the laws of the land and so should exhibit the no-nonsense posturing he’s known for. That’s lawlessness to the bone marrow, if you ask me. We are not in a jungle where the strongest can do whatever he pleases.
It’s unfortunate how you believe Akufo-Addo is a promoter of the rule of thuggery when you cannot substantiate same with any concrete facts.
Your rather haggard and woebegone chorus of Akufo-Addo not being media friendly can be traced to your Militia in the Heart of the City documentary and your subsequent claim that you were ‘chased out’ of this country by some unknown people.
What is truistic about that whole episode is that “Manasseh Azure Awuni is a celebrated media personality, he is an astute writer and has carved a reputation for himself as being a great journalist”. These attributes were under attack when you did that shoddy militia documentary.
You had your ego bruised by the verdict on that tawdry work you did and instead of embracing the inalienable fact that you are only human and can get it wrong sometimes, you poured your frustrations on Akufo-Addo, blamed him for everything and that added to how you severed your relationship with the man.
The bit about the party being made stronger than the President is a bit strange. The party is different from the President. Haven’t you heard from Mr. Peter McManu that the party is going to alter how it selects its parliamentary candidates? Did that come from the President? No! At all times, as a human institution, the party births policies, implements them and reviews them as and when the need arises. That’s how a party is managed.
In conclusion, if you intend to contribute your quota to the successful administration of President Akufo-Addo, do it in a manner that doesn’t depict you as someone who is on a form of a vendetta against Akufo-Addo. Criticize him when you believe he is going awry but be decorous and constructive in doing so.

of course like your web site however you need to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the reality then again I will certainly come again again.
