A new Covid-19 directive from the Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC), is asking persons who want to go to any beach in the Greater Accra region, to show proof of vaccination before entering.
This directive is one of the revised rules from REGSEC after it imposed a ban on beaches as a measure to reduce people from contracting the new variant of Covid-19, “Omicron”.
On December 24, 2021, the Greater Accra Regional Co-Ordinating Council issued a number of directives one of which, placed a ban on going to the beaches.
But in a new statement issued today December 30, 2021, the Greater Accra REGSEC has revived it December 24, 2021, Covid-19 directive and lifted the ban on going to beaches.
The directive is also asking the Ghana Health Service, to mount a vaccination post at the various beaches and vaccinate persons who are entering beaches, but have not being vaccinated.
Also, beach operators are to ensure all Covid-19 protocols are adhered to by patrons, as well as separating the enter point to the beaches from the exits.
