The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general election has filed a petition at the Supreme Court of Ghana to challenge the legitimacy of the President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Among other reliefs, he prays the court to order the electoral commission to conduct a second election amidst the flaws identified in the conduct of the general election by the first respondent.
Monitored across many social media platforms is the relief to seek the second election between the petitioner (Mr. John Dramani Mahama) and the 1st Respondent (the EC) as a candidate. It definitely must be an error which to many needs no attention than the substance of the matter which suggests that the errors made by the 1st Respondent in conducting the 2020 general elections led to the erroneous declaration of the 2nd Respondent as President-elect and this cannot hold.
