The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) Ghana, has ban the interdicted Managing Director (MD) of the Cocoa Processing Company, Nana Agyenim Boateng from stepping foot into the premises of the company.
Their ban follows what they described in a press release as an attempt by the Investigation Committee to exonerate the interdicted MD.
The release signed by the Acting General Secretary of the ICU Ghana, Emmanuel Benimah, which copied the Minister of Food and Agriculture among others; says the workers will take an action that will prevent the interdicted MD from ever stepping foot into the company. ” …. the entire unionized members of the Cocoa Processing Company and the mother union (ICU-Ghana), to declare the interdicted Managing Director, persona non grata at CPC and as such, he must not step his foot on the CPC premises”.
Nana Agyenim Boateng was interdicted in 2022 on allegations made by the CPC ICU. The allegations include conflict of interest, causing financial lose to the company, breach of the company’s laid down purchasing of products rule, his unsavoury and attitude and poor human relations towards the staff of CPC.

The ICU Ghana, is questioning why the report by the Investigation Committee, which has not been validated and signed; is already published in the media.
They noted the media report is pre-empting any censoring from the aggrevived parties.
Part of the release also touched on the conflicting nature of the Investigation Committee’s report which condemned the unprofessional attitude of the MD and also absolving him of his malfeasance. ” The union and the entire members of the Cocoa Processing Company, totally reject the report of the Investigation Committee as it does not reflect the reality on the ground”.
The ICU Ghana, also, “call for the immediate replacement of the interdicted Managing Director…”. Part of the release reads.
