Three months into your pregnancy, Ephesians 2:8 became real of how the kids will be named. It started with Gyidie (FAITH) through Adom (GRACE) to get Nhyirah (BLESSINGS). The anticipation of Adom-mroso (ABUNDANT GRACE) as married couples has still been left to the purpose of GOD. And knowing that all things work together for the good of them that LOVE God, we are opened to receive as I know because He will have a reason to bring such into our family should it happen.

On that first day of our meeting at Ghana Commercial Bank to process and pick our national service allowances, the way I appeared to be talking in the queue just separated by three people was enough to put many people off. Ah, but who is this talkative and “too-known” guy? I believe many retorted as such. Instead of that making you ward off, you rather got closer by responding to my perceived “trash” of how I was going to make sure National Service allowances will be paid directly into the accounts of personnel without the monthly queues in banks to sign to collect if I become the President. It is my view that you only are someone who can see into the future and rather looked beyond. What we talked about became reality and service personnel are enjoying the same. We did not institute that but that subject of discussion became the means by which I got to know you and in my view it is a blessing which tells of the GRACE I have experienced. Seeing into the future and making plans for them has become a daily delicacy though it has never been easy.

After all the yobbing in the bank while we waited in line for our allowance, I could not still see the opportunity ahead of us and virtually left without making sure I could link up to you after the first encounter. The blessing I had then too was you making sure we exchanged contacts which enabled us to stay in touch. That was an unmerited favour, GRACE in abundance. “… never looked at my garment and took steps to snatch me from some future hell fire”.

In March 2006, the world was visited with the eclipse of the moon and some of us saw it as ordinary science and never saw it as a blessing in disguise. Our conversations and chats started after your call and when we appreciated the wonders of God. Even though I bought the special spectacles to view the darkness that was to be seen in the day time, I never saw anything beyond. I never worked for our reconnection after all the talks I did in the queue on our first meeting. I cannot imagine what I would have lost. That unmerited favour is what you represent and I am happy to celebrate it more on this day of your birth. Happy Birthday my DEAR WIFE.

I remember the many times we took advantage of the free mid-night calls service offered by vodafon Ghana at that time to invest prayers into the future. Talks at that time was open and no one cared who will be heart because we had no strings attached. I saw it as a phase we made everything about our past bare which helped if you ask me. I never forgets of the times in the night you had to sit in darkness at the mercies of mosquitoes to pray and chat into the night till 5 am mostly.

From the first times I visited your family and through the marriage processes till Gyidie came forth, followed by Adom and later Nhyirah, I sum it all as someone I never deserved but came my way. That is GRACE personified, my MILOST as a Croatian will put it. From dreams of one of your siblings  to what was recently said about how far you were going to travel to marry, I have no doubt our being together is an accident. We have a purpose to achieve and this medium and union called marriage will make that happen.

From a single room, pleading to add garages to our set of room, sharing of halls, paying bills per headcount where our kids were all counted to the raising of three bed rooms where you said could be called our home but now realise we still will have to move on for another whenever the opportunity presents, it is GRACE defined in you.

You have had justifiable reasons to call it quit comparing it to reasons I have heard people use to premise their divorce. But you again have been around for the past 14 years and if that is not GRACE defined in you, what else can I call it? If you are still here and I have been denied of my second, third or probably fourth mirage marriage, the it is an unmerited favour – GRACE.

Listening to the world and externalities, one of the things I could have done was to may be get a new mansion at a plush area, get a new car in the class of the Ferraris, and take you on some shopping spree with unlimited expenditure credit card access. That would have made news for many to see how someone celebrated the dear one. It would have happened without a facebook post or upload of pictures on social media handles. Just a picture from any of these description would have been sold without request. As the saying goes “empty barrel makes the most noise”, it becomes necessary to write paragraphs to express appreciation.

In fairy tales and while thinking of how to do something special to welcome your day of birth, I suggested we watch movie till I get the opportunity to wish you first in the early hours of 11th November. I was not surprised when you had planned to pray into the hour and I could not do anything else than to oblige because “you chose that which was good and needful”. That has been one thing I know has sustained us through it all.  Your praying ability is a  strength and a demonstration of the undeserved favour I have had – GRACE.

I wish you a Happy Birthday Maame Akua Aboagyewaa Portia Amoah Adu-Gyasi, the mother of my kids, controller of affairs, planner for the future and master of ideas and businesses. Assembly woman and Osofo Maame, I know Gyidie, Adom and Nhyirah will have nothing less to say even from their singing this morning. Aunts Abena, Edna and Grandma Nana Pokuaa are all adding up for us to share in this day. Wait for the V8 Nana Yaw (Evans Adu-Gyasi) has promised, I know we will ride in it to the moon when it arrives.

With much LOVE, enjoy your day and never cease to be the channel of GOD’s grace in our life. God bless you and the family that gave you to me at no cost if you ask me. The GRACE we have is valuable not because of how much it is worth in the eyes of men but deliverance it brought our way and ……

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PORTIA ADU-GYASI

  1. I’m not sure where you’re getting your info, but good topic. I needs to spend some time learning more or understanding more. Thanks for wonderful info I was looking for this info for my mission.

  2. Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. However imagine if you added some great graphics or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this website could definitely be one of the best in its niche. Awesome blog!
